Questions, answered.
Who is Elementary for?
Kids in elementary school (TK-5th grade) and the grown-ups beside them. Everything is designed to be done together, though independent kids can enjoy much of it themselves too.
Do I need to buy any supplies?
Hopefully not. The idea is that every activity uses things you probably already have at home, like a banana, a toothpick, and tape. No kits, no apps.
Occasionally, you may choose to pick up something from your local grocery or hardware store.
When does it ship?
Issue No. 1 ships in January 2027. (Order by December 31, 2026 to make sure you receive Issue #1.)
After that, a new issue arrives every quarter.
Why is it $50?
$50 is our introductory price. That's for four issues, delivered quarterly. Shipping is included!
What's a founding family?
Inspired by the 118 elements on the periodic table, there are 118 founding families of Elementary Magazine.
They will each get introductory pricing and get assigned an honorary "element," in the order of subscriptions: order one gets Hydrogen, order two gets Helium, all the way to Oganesson.
The first name of each founding subscriber may be printed on a "Periodic Table of Founding Families" in a future issue.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes! At checkout, just enter the the gift recipient's name and address as the shipping address, and we’ll mail the magazine straight to them.
You can print an Elementary gift card, to give to your loved one. It includes a word search they can do while waiting for their first issue to arrive.
